VI International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Physical Activity and Quality of Human Life”

Traditionally, in the first month of summer, for six years in a row, experts in physical culture and sports from all corners of Ukraine, as well as Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany gather at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University for the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Physical Activity and Quality of Human Life”. The mission of the conference is to involve scientists in a professional discussion about the place and significance of motor activity in improving the quality of human life. Unfortunately, this year's event was held online.

The organizers of the conference are Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Lutsk, Ukraine), Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Częstochowa (Poland), Pavel Josef Šafarik University in Kosice (Slovakia), and Jan Evangelista Purkina University in Usti nad Labem ( Czech Republic) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Physical Culture and Sports Section of the Department of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

Reports, research materials, and scientific discussions testify to the topicality of the issue of improving the quality of human life by means of motor activity, especially in the conditions of war. The discussion of this issue contributes to the search for effective solutions and opens up prospects for further research into the innovative ways of solving the problem of improving the quality of life of both individuals and society as a whole.

The conference program included plenary and sectional meetings in such areas as the genesis of the concepts of “physical activity” and “quality of life” of a person; components of human quality of life; physical activity and health; physical activity in a person's lifestyle; physical activity programs; physical activity as a factor in human life; physical activity in physical rehabilitation and social adaptation.

The conference was opened by the rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Professor Anatolii Tsos. He noted that the topic under discussion is significant, relevant, and especially important today, as the Ukrainian nation may age by 10 years in the conditions of war. Therefore, it is important to maintain physical activity which helps to reduce the level of stress hormones.

The moderator of the conference, the head of the department of fitness and cycle sports, associate professor Svitlana Indyka, wished the participants fruitful work and an interesting dialogue. According to her, holding such events is always a great initiative because they open up opportunities to share experiences and find new solutions.

The dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, Associate Professor Vasyl Pantik, in his welcome speech said: “Lesya Ukrainka University is a university with an 80-year history, which established powerful scientific and pedagogical schools. During the years of independent Ukraine, it has maintained a high intellectual standard and remains one of the leading institutions of higher education in the country. This is a university that greatly respects history and traditions but is open to positive changes and progressive transformations. We are glad, that a group of like-minded people, colleagues from the international scientific community and from various scientific institutions of Ukraine have met today and are ready to share their research findings and opinions.”

After the plenary session, a discussion club was held with the presentation of scientific works and inventions, sharing experiences, and vivid poster presentations.
