On February 3, the finals of the “What? Where? When? Mayor's Super Cup” game took place. In its closing part, two teams competed: the winners of the youth cup and the city pundits.
The team of savvies included Nataliia Blahovirna, the Vice Rector for Educational Work and Communication of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Communications; Serhii Hodlevskyi, the historian and military officer; Iryna Chebeliuk, the Deputy Mayor for the activities of the executive bodies of Lutsk City Council; Vitalii Bondar, the Head of the Education Department of Lutsk City Council; Olha Fast, the Vice Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation of Lutsk Pedagogical College, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Dmytro Piddubnyi, the Deputy and Manager of Ihor Palytsia’s “Only Together” Foundation.
The team the “VolynDebate” included Borys Pikalov, the debater, current champion of Ukraine in debates, expert in virtual assets; Andrii Kostiuk, the debater, student of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; Serhii Shyshko, the debater, school student, Chairman of the Scientific-Student Society of Volyn Scientific Lyceum; Bohdan Olikh, the debater, business analyst, home healthcare instructor; Anastasiia Seneliuk, the debater, International corporate communications specialist; Eleonora Shvets, team captain, debater, B2B and B2C marketing expert.
The event was hosted by Anton Yevtushok, the Head of the NGO “Brainstorm”, speaking about the event itself and its holding: “The initiative of the event belongs to the Department of Youth and Sports of Lutsk City Council. The qualifying round of the competition took place in autumn. Then 14 teams competed for the victory. The competition was organised at Korsakov Museum of Contemporary Art with “VolynDebate” winning. The students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University also participated in the competition. After that, the grand finals were arranged to form a team of experienced educators. Today's finals are the classic “What? Where? When?” game. There were 22 questions on the table. The game went well, facilitated by the convenient location. The victory of “VolynDebate” was anticipated, because they had been training for a long time. Also, this year we are planning to launch a school league for “What? Where? When?” under the auspices of the Department of Youth and Sports of Lutsk City Council”.
The laureate of the intellectual competition was the “VolynDebate” team, a previous winner of the youth cup “What? Where? When? Mayor's Cup”. All participants of the competition and fans were lavished with positive emotions. The University will continue to participate in such initiatives, as they contribute to the intellectual development of young people and new knowledge acquisition.
