On February 1, Chunjie is celebrated by the world, literally meaning "Spring Festival", also called the Chinese or Lunar New Year.
This day marks one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays, as it is a derivative of the inherited from ancient times Chinese lunisolar calendar and determined by the lunar phases on the day of the second new moon after the winter solstice.

Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University did not stay away from such an important date, so the Rector Anatolii Tsios and the Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Arts Vitalii Okhmaniuk congratulated our Master students from China.
"Happy New Year! I wish you good health and inspiration for the university graduation. International education is always a positive thing, because not only the knowledge but also ethnic traditions are exchanged between both sides. I wish you happiness and all the best," said Anatolii Tsios.

After that, students were presented with gifts from the University which were equally sweet and useful. It is so delightful that the Chinese students can sing Ukrainian songs!

Masters from the Celestial Empire were grateful for the respect and attention to their holiday and performed two compositions on a folk instrument, a reminiscent of flute and reedpipe (sopilka) fusion. The University headquarters heard melodic Chinese tunes resonating far beyond the Styr River.
