An international charity conference “Together United: Scientists against War” took place at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Recruitment Yuriy Gromyk, the Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching Work, Material and Technical Supply Anatoliy Fedoniuk, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Antonina Shuliak, the Professor of the Department of International Economic Relations and Project Management of the Faculty of International Relations Natalia Pavlikha spoke at the conference opening.
– A challenge Again, and another time for us to defend the right to be Ukrainians, – Yurii Gromyk underlined. – I believe that the academic community should also participate with all our might in our victory. For this is a phenomenon to go down in history. I express my gratitude to the conference organisers. I believe that your interesting discussions can forge discoveries.
Due to the mixed format of work, Turkish professor Ayselin Yidiz was the first to speak online. She congratulated all conference participants and spoke about the war and displacement, in particular, in the current Ukrainian context. The plenary session was devoted to discussing the issues of effective volunteering and business, Rotary International’s activities to secure the sustainable development, problems and prospects of “green” funding during the reconstruction of Ukraine, inclusive development in wartime, the need to diversify rural development, assessment of land damage due to military aggression.
At the section meeting, the scientists expressed their views on the aspects of the information technology use under extreme conditions. The speakers included data analysis, information security, development of anti-cyberterrorism systems, encryption in the Oracle database, modern DATA centres, features of communications in networks with disrupted external communication channels and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The conference “Together United: Scientists against War” was another chance to prove that scientists perceive events in the extraordinary way, and it is such views and research that bring Ukraine closer to the victory.
