An important social project “A piece of Goodness” was organized in Lutsk on Christmas Eve for the fifth time. The event was initiated by the Social Services Administration for families, children and youth of Lutsk City Council. Annually well-known and successful people take children into their care to help them prepare for the self-sufficient way of life through the development of their physical, spiritual and intellectual capacity, self-confidence, moral and cultural values.
During 2022, within the social project “A piece of Goodness”, thirteen orphans and children deprived of the parental care will be visiting Lutsk community’s enterprises, organizations and establishments to see and experience the grown-up life.
During the event, children from Volyn had a possibility to listen to the mentors’ inspirational speeches about schooling, university study and career choice. One of the mentors this year was Natalia Blahovirna, the Pro-Rector for educational work and communications, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Social Communications Department. Here are several quotes from her speech: “One can be happy at this place and moment and forever. When I was invited to this event, first of all I decided to recall the moment when first I made my career choice. And immediately some images appeared. I am a first-grader and learning to write. I am at the library, reading a book. My mother always told me: “Study and it will become your advantage”. “You should build your life with things you like and make you happy”. As for me, when I was a child, reading a book made me truly happy”. “Moreover, the important thing to remember is that God is always with you. When you are either alone or surrounded by friends, He will always stand by you and show the way to go even if you have not been aware of it yet”.
This year mentors are also Vasyl Pantik, the Dean of the Physical Education, Sports and Health Faculty, Candidate of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor; Viktor Korsak, the VOLWEST GROUP Head of the Board of Directors, Founder of Korsak Contemporary Ukrainian Art Museum, Doctor of Economics; Svitlana Organista, Honored Artist of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Award Holder in nomination “For the Creative Achivements”, director, actress of Volyn Regional Music and Drama Theatre, art director and production director of “Kolo Lesi” theatre studio; Viktor Haponchuk, judge, the Head of Volyn Court of Appeals; and other famous Volynians.
Every mentor prepared a gift for a child. The event took place at the Korsak Contemporary Ukrainian Art Museum.
