Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was visited by the Head of the Supervisory Board Ihor Palytsia and Members of the Supervisory Board of the higher education institution, People's Deputies of Ukraine Iryna Konstankevych and Oleksandr Tovsteniuk.
The guests inspected the educational and laboratory building № 2 (C), in particular, the Medical Faculty and the Faculty of Biology and Forestry.
Ihor Palytsia, Iryna Konstankevych and Oleksandr Tovsteniuk were welcomed by the Dean of the Medical Faculty Andriy Poruchynskyi who explained his administrative duties in the department, its staff, training programmes and conducted a tour of educational laboratories of Human Anatomy, Cytology, Histology and Embryology.

The guests were informed about the work of laboratories and the specifics of teaching medical students by the Head of the Department of Human Anatomy Tetiana Shevchuk, Professor Vasyl Pykaliuk and the Head of the Department of Histology and Medical Biology Yaroslav Stepaniuk.



Besides, the Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Anatolii Tsios and the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Innovations Vadym Ulianov revealed plans for the project of Medical Faculty’s optimisation to the Head and Members of the Supervisory Board.
“On the second floor, two basic departments will be arranged, namely, Anatomy and Histology. In particular, a histological laboratory will be supplied with modern equipment and also scientific microscopes for sections preparation. Appropriate software as well as additional simulators are required for practical physiology skills training. Having studied the theoretical part, the students will get down to practice, using modern technologies," – Vadym Ulianov explained.


In addition, according to the Vice-Rector, the faculty will have a conference hall, an office of virtual physiology, lecture and practical classrooms. A total of 245 students will have an opportunity to study here. The Head and other Members of the Supervisory Board studied the project of the faculty’s renovation and were shown the concept of the premises of the structural unit after the actual renovation to be funded by the State Fund for Regional Development.


Vadym Oleksiiovych mentioned in this context that after the renovation, the faculty should have a modern educational space so that the students can study independently in comfortable conditions.
After learning the details of the faculty’s work, the Rector, Vice-Rectors and guests discussed the prospects for the development of the Medical Faculty. After the meeting, Anatolii Tsios expressed his gratitude to the Head and Members of the Supervisory Board for their comprehensive support: “I am sincerely grateful to the Head of the Supervisory Board Ihor Palytsia, Iryna Konstankevych and Oleksandr Tovsteniuk for their multi-lateral support and assistance. It is very important to implement plans not individually, but as a team. Our success largely depends on this cooperation. ”
