On January 16, 2024, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University held a ceremonial presentation of master's diplomas. This year, 1,384 students graduated from the master’s programme. The event was held in the assembly hall of Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security.
Parents, friends and relatives came to congratulate the graduates on the completion of the year and a half studies. The ceremony was also attended by Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Anatolii Tsos, vice-rectors and deans of the faculties. The honorable guests of the event were Chairman of Volyn Regional Council, Deputy Chairman of the University’s Supervisory Board Hryhorii Nedopad, Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk, Head of Department of Education and Science of Volyn Regional State Administration Natalia Matviiuk.
“During this year and a half studies, we have solved two main tasks. The first is assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We understand perfectly well that without victory there will be no our state, there will be no Ukrainian university. Therefore, I sincerely thank you for holding many charity marathons and raising almost two million hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, our main task is education. It is high-quality education that is the key to future high-quality professional activity,” summarised Rector Anatolii Tsos.
The event also featured singing congratulations from the students of Faculty of Culture and Arts and congratulations on obtaining the educational qualification level “Master” from the deans of each faculty.
“Dear professors and teaching staff of our University, dear lecturers and masters! Today is a special moment for all of you, because this year and a half has flown by like one day. Despite all the difficulties that we are currently overcoming, working for our victory, obtaining education, in particular a master’s degree, have become a priority. Today, I can also proudly say that Volyn National University has become my native university, – Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk, a master's degree graduate from Lesya Ukrainka University, congratulated the graduates.
The Chairman of Volyn Regional Council Hryhorii Nedopad also expresses his congratulations: "Dear graduates, yesterday you were students, and now I can truly call you colleagues. After all, it is higher education and a master's degree giving you the opportunity to work in both state authorities and local self-government bodies. The last master's years were the most difficult, because you studied to the sound of sirens, rocket explosions and really felt the war. I wish everyone to remember these years, the teaching staff, and colleagues. Understand that these years are the best memories for a lifetime."
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates threw their academic caps and received sincere congratulations from their relatives.
