A student of the Faculty of Information Technology and Mathematics of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University has improved the educational process and communication with lecturers.
The idea to create a "Telegram" chatbot from Maxim Oleksiuk sparked… as a topic of course work. From the thematic diversity, he personally chose the University schedule chatbot. When the draft version was made, he decided to improve it, so started looking for analogues to, so to speak, compare quality and functionality. Comparing several developments of chatbots of other institutions of higher education and enterprises, he decided to further improve his own.
Were there any difficulties? Of course there were. Initially, there were problems with text integration, so now and then it was not as simple as it seemed at first glance. We had to continue to search, read, improve, and refine the functionality.
The author primarily prioritised user-friendliness. From the first use of the chat, you can choose your study group. Maxim designed everything so that it was not confusing, there was not much data, rather the opposite, so that everyone could intuitively move correctly in the chatbot.
"And such simplicity benefits everyone," our student says. – Any unnecessary actions done by the user, not to overload the chat, but to immediately provide the necessary information. The navigation system is designed to make it as convenient as possible for the student to receive the schedule. I came in, pressed the "Today" button and see the current schedule. If the names of the subjects and the names of the lecturers are highlighted for the group, then for the lecturers, the group in which the class will be conducted is shown. That is, for each target consumer, the information is different, and everyone understands how, what, when.
Students have already noted the simplicity, and lecturers also approve of such initiative. And some valuable preferences will definitely considered by the author.
